Avon’s Magix Face Protector had me at “hello”… Anything that says magic on the packaging fascinates me. At first glance the black box and sleek white tube inside indicated a certain type of luxury. And then I opened it. The primer smelt absolutely lovely and glinted slightly – almost like liquid pearls.
Avon’s Magix Face Protector was so smooth it felt like cashmere against my skin. After applying it, my skin also felt velvety, which is exactly what you want from a primer, something that smoothes your skin and preps it for your foundation.
Throughout the day my make-up lasted longer and my skin appeared smoother. I have large pores, and although this product is not magically going to make them disappear, it definitely made them appear smaller. I will definitely keep buying this product in future and would recommend it to anyone.

I have tried everywhere to buy the Avon Magix face protector but nobody seems to have any. Do you know if Avon have stopped making this product??? or even better where I could possibly buy any.

How does it compare to the Avon Smoothing Primer. Is it the same thing?

This is a really good primer. It glides on easily and smoothes out the skin with a silk touch. So when the foundation/cc cream is applied, you’ll have a poreless finish.
Bonus points for the fact that it minimises oil too! Works better with a foundation, I found that a CC cream tends to crumble on top with application.

This really is horrible because is dries flakey and foundation doesn’t agree with it. It was disappointing!

I am genuinely surprised by the quality of this product. It glided smoothly on my skin, minimizing my pores and holding back shine. I haven’t tried a lot of primers but the ones I’ve tried don’t control shine (especially on my T-zone) as good as this one. I recommend this product to anyone who doesn’t want to pay a lot to get great results.

I am very particular as to what I wear underneath my foundation, as ones face can start to look rather lumpy with the more layers your applying. I have found that with the incorrect moisturiser this product can leave a white residue on more darker skin tones and the glowing glitter within the perfector is more prominent. They appear to take excellent effect on lighter and more dull skin tones.

I generally use this product under my foundation. The foundation went on easier and stayed on better. I would recommend that you use a light moisturiser instead of your normal moisturiser when using this product under your foundation. Excellent product.
