Products we’re *obsessed* with this week

Over the last while we’ve had some incredible prods arriving on the beauty desk, and we are obsessed. Here’s the how and why. Words by Aléz Odendaal.

Optiphi Clarity Serum | We had the pleasure of meeting someone from the Optiphi team who went through this serum’s formulation for us, and suffice it to say that it’s packed full of very carefully curated ingredients that have proven effective through rigorous tests. It’s essentially a science-first approach to skincare, and we love it. Pop it on an individual spot and watch that baby fade ASAP.

Exuviance Detox Mud Treatment Mask | Had a long day? Slap on this detox mask, light a candle (we love the Gorgeous  Cow Blissful Room Candle), and grab your favourite book for twenty minutes of quiet time. While you’re busy being not busy, the treatment will work its way through your skin with its non-acid amino-sugar exfoliation, unclogging your pores and absorbing excess oil. Yes, please!

Knackered Cow Relaxing Bath and Body Oil | Those of us in the Eastern and Western Capes aren’t allowed a bath yet, but everyone can use this as a body oil. After showering but well before bed (no one wants oil stains on their sheets), massage into your legs, thighs, and chest. Let the calming scent of lavender take the edge off a long week.

Dr Gobac Exfoliating Masque | This little wonder product has been formulated with acids to gently remove the dead skin cells sitting on the surface of your face. This reduces dark spots, helps get rid of spots, and will make your makeup application so much smoother. Bonus? It’s natural! The exfoliating ingredient is papaya enzyme.

Yardley Intense Matte Lips | Kylie isn’t the only person who can make a stunning matte lip, and beauty powerhouse Yardley prove that point well. And you should see the colours. We literally had three staffers from elsewhere in the company stop by the beauty desk and gasp. Gasp. That’s how nice they are.

Nivea Repair and Care Body Lotion| Winter is indeed coming. If you know you tend to get dry spots in the colder months, grab this extra-super-moisturising lotion that offers up to 48hrs of protection.

Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon | Dermalogica are about to launch this babe in South Africa, following a fabulous event last week where we learnt how our circadian rhythm affects our skin, and how to optimise your beauty sleep with the products you use and at what time. If you want to look your best, Dermalogica says to apply any products between 6pm and 9pm, get enough rest in a cool environment covered with a warm blanket, and avoid relying on coffee to get you through the day after a big night. Applying Sound Sleep Cocoon will also help as the serum works to promote plump, healthier-looking skin by morning. The best part?
