How do you clean your makeup brushes? And more importantly, how regularly? For many of us this is a really boring task, and one that often gets neglected, however, it’s actually an extremely important part of your beauty regime.
If not cleansed regularly, your makeup brushes could contribute to breakouts and clogged pores, as oil from your face can get trapped between the bristles, leading to the formation of bacteria. Using clean makeup brushes is an essential part of maintaining a clearer complexion.
For brushes used to apply liquid makeup like foundation or concealer, it’s important to wash them at least once a week. For brushes used to apply powder makeup like eyeshadow, you could probably get away with a bit more time, but we would err on the side of caution.

They’re really easy to use: You simply wet your brush with water, and then gently swirl it around the cleaner balm (which is housed in a sturdy container). Once the bristles are covered in a lather, gently swirl your brush around a Bailey G Silicone Cleaning Pad. The varying patterns are designed to help with the brush cleaning process (the textured surface is great for those hard-to-reach places).
Then, simply rinse your brush under running water until the water runs clear, and allow your brush to air dry. I usually lay mine down on a small towel for a day or two. Your Cleaning Bar should still have some bubbles on the surface and you can continue washing all your brushes until you’re finished. Once you’re done, simply run some water over the cleaner to rinse bubbles away and allow it to dry upside down.
