Do I need an eye cream despite having no wrinkles?

Is it necessary for someone who has no visible eye area problems (dark circles, wrinkles etc.), to use an eye cream? I currently do use one, more for preventative purposes than anything else. Is this to my benefit? Or could I be doing some harm to the sensitive area if it doesn’t need the additional eye cream in my skincare routine?

Skin & Body Renewal founder and expert, Dr Maureen Allem, responds:

“Thank you so much for such a great question. If you currently have no visible problems around the eye area, but you want to prevent or at least retard line and wrinkle formation, then using an eye product as a preventative measure is certainly a good idea, You would only be offering that fragile, sensitive area, more protection, which is absolutely a good thing. So using an eye product that focuses on hydration and maybe some antioxidant protection would be sufficient and will help you to prolong the youthfulness of that area for longer.”

  1. The skin around the eyes are sensitive so applying eye-cream is necessary from the age of 20.

  2. Wow, I have yet to meet someone under the age of 20 who doesn’t need a bit of help under their eyes.
