Vitaderm recently launched their latest innovation – the Aesthetic Peel System – a professionally administered, step-up approach to skin renewal designed for those seeking visible results without harsh downtime. This advanced new peel system combines three expertly formulated acid treatments, each carefully developed to support and enhance your skin’s natural glow. Step 2: Salicylic Acid Peel – Clarity and Purification
Next, the Salicylic Acid Peel works deep inside pores to clear congestion, reduce breakouts, and refine the skin’s appearance. Perfect for oily or blemish-prone skin, this oil-soluble peel delivers an intensive yet gentle deep cleanse, helping to reveal a smooth, balanced finish.
Step 3: Glycolic Acid Peel – Deeper Revitalisation
In the final phase, the system progresses to the powerhouse Glycolic Acid Peel. This fruit-derived acid penetrates deeper to stimulate collagen production, smooth fine lines, and improve skin texture, leaving your complexion visibly refreshed and renewed.

We attended the Aesthetic Peel System media launch at the lovely Sorbet in MontClare Place, Claremont (Cape Town).
“Some time ago, I experienced the Vitaderm Fruit Acid Peel (you can read my review over here), and I loved the effects of this gentle-yet-effective professional treatment. I’m also a big fan of Vitaderm products in general (their Radian-C Serum is phenomenal!), so I was excited to learn all about their new Aesthetic Peel System.
As I suspected, this new range of professional treatments is a step up from the Vitaderm treatments previously available. That means more concentrated ingredients and better results. But like all professional treatments, you need to start small and work your way up.
I was treated to the Mandelic Acid Peel, the first step in the protocol and the gentlest of the three treatments. Mandelic acid offers gentle-yet-effective exfoliation, it promotes cellular turnover and enhances skin radiance. It’s a great ingredient for sensitive skin and first-time users, or for those whose skin is not accustomed to regular peels.
The treatment was such a lovely experience. The therapist started by thoroughly double-cleansing my skin to remove all traces of impurities and makeup. Once my skin was cleansed, she applied the mandelic acid solution, and told me it would remain on my skin for five minutes before it was neutralised.
I felt a slight tingle on the drier parts of my skin, including my cheeks and around my nose. However, it wasn’t painful and at no point was I uncomfortable. My therapist mentioned that my skin had gone quite pink, and kept checking on me to ensure I wasn’t experiencing any discomfort. After five minutes had passed, she began neutralising the solution.
My face felt a little bit warm once the neutralisation was completed, but again, no pain or discomfort. My therapist applied some moisturising products to my skin and explained the post-care protocols.
I love that there was no downtime after this treatment. I left the salon with glowing skin and a slight flush to the cheeks – nothing more. I didn’t experience any tightness, which is so often associated with post-treatment skin. The post-treatment glow improved in the days that followed, when my complexion looked smoother, brighter and overall, happier.
