Different wedding looks for different personalities

Your wedding day is meant to be special, and you should feel gorgeous and at ease when all eyes are inevitably on you. The day should reflect you and your partner’s personalities, yet many women feel like they melt away amongst the white dress, the flowers and the traditions.
Wedding looks to try to suit your personality
A traditional wedding doesn’t have to mean looking like every other bride. We’ve compiled some signature hair and make-up trends as well a couple of accessories that will help you create the look you want.

Princess bride
If you love all things frilly and fantastic, this look is for you. Be careful not to overdo it; the key is to still look like a beautiful, grown woman and not a little girl. Focus on small details like a sweetheart neckline or a cap sleeve, a tiara, flowy hair extensions and dreamy make-up (picture 2).

Indie girl
Nobody will make you put your hair in a chignon if you don’t want to. Stick to neutral make-up colours and have your hair done in a wavy, unstructured style. Finish your hair off with fresh flowers or a headband (picture 6).

Classic beauty
Classic beauty will never look out-dated. Smokey brown eye shadow, luscious lashes and pulled back hair is a beautiful look; especially on those with classic bone structure. Add diamond or pearl jewellery, and keep lips nude (pictures 3 and 5).
Wedding looks to try on your wedding day
A dash of colour
Liven up a traditional bridal look by adding colour to your face. Think green or purple eye shadow; cerise or red lips. This works particularly well in contrast with traditional bridal elements like pearls and a veil (pictures 4 and 9).

Traditional with a twist
If you wish to give a nod to the traditional veil, utilise a fascinator or a hat with some netting. It’s sassy and stylish, and is particularly suited to a dress with bare shoulders (picture 8).

Pony party
A classic ponytail with dramatic eye make-up looks very striking, particularly on young brides with clean features (picture 1).

Natural beauty
If you hardly wear make-up on a regular day, it’s not always a good idea to go for a full face on your wedding day – you want to look beautiful, but not unrecognisable. Keep things natural looking by perfecting your complexion (it takes more make-up to look make-up-free than you would imagine) and adding some lash extensions, blush, nude lip colour and a neutral eye shadow (picture 7).

  1. I’m currently studying toward my international diploma in health & skin care therapy, with make-up being one of my major & favorite subjects, & I must say these bridal looks are on point! All different & uniquely stunning, love them all! I agree with the article 100%! The brides personality should always be taken into consideration when creating her special look for her special day:) I personally love playing with the eyes;) It being the windows to the soul & all–,) #hopelessromantic I know, lol….

  2. I just love the idea of different personalities and take note to those ladies that don’t wear make-up regularly, less is more especially on your wedding day. This article proved me right.

  3. I love number 6 the most. It’s still quite natural which is my personal preference. Sure, you want to wow, but you also don’t want to be unrecognisable to your guests.

  4. Unfortunately I am not married yet, still extremely single but I know I would wear a specially made Tiara and a custom made dress. That will truly reflect my personality.
