Krysten Ritter, who is known for her signature blunt bangs and alabaster-toned skin, is a master of picking the most gorgeous shades for her complexion. And as Krysten proves, the key is to go with soft, sheer tones and to embrace your natural colouring.
Complexion
Regardless of your colouring and undertones, it’s always best to match the shade to your skin. If you need less coverage, go with a sheer tinted moisturiser to let your skin shine through, and if you need to amp up the coverage, try a liquid or cream foundation, using a colourless or pale powder to set.
Lips
For the most natural look, try soft apricots, sandy pinks, or rosy pinks. For night, a pinky-red color gives a dramatic flair. Avoid browns, which can look dull on fair skin.
Eyes
Create a subtle enhancement with soft pink, pale blue, champagne, navy, gray, or cool brown hues. Use black or black-brown mascara to ground the look and play up your eyes.
Cheeks
Soft peach, pale pink, and apricot are all great blush options for porcelain-toned skin. But when it comes to bronzer, avoid anything too warm; honey-toned shades with shimmery peach or pink flecks will flatter most.

My experience is that a tinted moisturiser is an excellent way of preventing you from looking pasty and over-done.
Thx for the tips!
Love these tips. I have super pale skin as well and certain makeup does nothing for me. I love Krysten Ritter in this pic – she looks gorgeous. :)
Brown lipstick.. I also thought it looks nice on my asian fair skin, never though of that dull look! hmm..let me get back to coral and pinky red.
I agree on soft peach for the cheeks.
Thanks for the article :)
Agree about the brown lipstick!
Most of the times I use a lipstick with a brown undertone and I have fair skin. Always thought it looks good!
Great article and great tips thank u, but i prefer not to use black eyeliner or black mascara, i rather settle for brown or a light charcoal colour it looks better on me than black.
Fair people sometimes end up looking pasty!
Wow never knew! Will stay away from my brown lipstick now
