Lightweight foundation
Meghan’s skin always shines through her foundation, and we love that she doesn’t cover up her freckles. We recommend a lightweight foundation like Elizabeth Arden’s Flawless Finish Everyday Perfection Bouncy Makeup (R299.00).

Brown eyebrow pencil
Meghan keeps her brows simple by lightly filling in sparse areas with a brown pencil. Try Elizabeth Arden’s Beautiful Color Brow Perfector in Brown (R370.00) – the colour payoff is fantastic and the sponge tip blends colour for a natural look.

Black eyeliner
When it comes to Meghan’s eyeliner, less is more. Too much black eyeliner can make your eyes look smaller, so use it conservatively, applying to the top and bottom waterlines. RVBLAB The Make Up’s Eye Pencil (R235.00) is ideal for the waterline as it’s long-lasting and easy to apply.

Neutral smokey eye
Meghan isn’t known for a smokey eye per se, but she creates depth with a combination of neutral eyeshadows that are neither harsh nor forgettable. Use a neutral brown shadow a shade or two darker than your skin as a base across your entire eyelid, blending it upwards towards your eyebrow. Define your eye by applying a darker brown shadow in the crease of your eyelid and in the outer corner of the eye. Blend, blend, blend! A few dabs of a lighter, shimmery shade in the inner corner of the eye accentuates the eye’s sparkle. If you want something slightly more dramatic, finish off the look by applying dark brown eyeshadow along your lash line and blend. Working with an eyeshadow palette is much easier than finding individual shades. We recommend Palladio’s Eyeland Vibes Palette in Horizon (R195.00) and RVBLAB The Make Up Into the Woods Eyeshadow Palette (Limited Edition – R595.00).

Volumising mascara
We recommend applying a volumising mascara to thicken the lashes. A few coats of essence’s lash princess sculpted volume mascara (R64.95) will do the trick. If you want to amp up the volume and add a little touch of drama, why not pop on a pair of false eyelashes? A natural-looking pair like Pinky Goat’s Jude Lashes (R149.00) add extra length and volume without extra weight and they feel so comfortable, you’ll forget you’re wearing them.

Peach blush
Meghan’s blusher always looks soft and glowy. A creamy shade of peach is perfect for a healthy glow and suits most skin tones. We love Sorbet’s Shimmer & Glow Shimmer Bronzer in Just Peachy (R200.00) and BioNike’s Defence Color Pretty Touch Compact Blusher in Marbre Rose (R175.00). Apply to the apples of the cheeks, sweeping upwards towards the temples.

Natural pink lipstick
Since marrying into the Royal Family, Meghan’s opted for more natural shades of lipstick, and we love a natural pink for Valentine’s Day. No need for a lip liner or gloss – simply pat on your chosen lip colour and reapply as often as needed. We love Palladio Matte Lipstick in Bella Pink (R99.95) and Sorbet’s Matte Kisses Lipstick in shade 02 (R105.00).
