What better way to show off your individuality than with fashion colours in your hair?
Whether it’s temporary or permanent, we love the look of pastel coloured hair. From blue hues to peachy-pink shades, this trend has taken the hair world by storm. Every celebrity, runway model and girl down town has tried it out, so by now you have probably seen every shade imaginable.
But which celebrities pull it off the best? We simply love Kelly Osbourne’s lovely lavender shade. If you are bold and brave, why not tone it up a bit and go for a brighter pink like Nicki Minaj? If you cannot see yourself colouring your whole head, a dip dye like Demi Levato’s might be of interest to you.
Chalking also came onto the beauty scene a while back, with at-home hair chalk and crayons gaining popularity after YouTube and Pinterest showcased thousands of step-by-step tutorials. This is a temporary look and you can wash it out straight away if you don’t like it, making it perfect for anyone who isn’t brave enough to go permanent.
It’s important to keep in mind that when you colour your hair or add highlights, you are going to cause some damage, especially if the process involves bleaching your hair. Use a rich nourishing conditioning treatment once or twice a week to combat the damage and make your hair more manageable. We love the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Deep Conditioner Street Art Design Edition.
Make use of a good shampoo and conditioner that will nourish your hair throughout the week, helping to nurture your colour, which in the end will help preserve it. We recommend the Aussie Mega Shampoo Street Art Limited Edition and the Aussie Mega Instant Conditioner Street Art Limited Edition.

OMG OMG OMG! I want this. This is ssoooooo the colour for me. I dyed the inner lower half of my hair blonde 2 years ago… then last year in December I dyed purple over it… These past 6 months, everytime I wash it, it fades a little so it is a REALLY COOL purple – pink – blonde ombre look ! I love it. Colour hair is a reflection of ones personality!

Wowness! These celebrities pull it off really well, but I am just not that kind of brave.. lol

I’m looking for a bold colour, but don’t think this is it ;-) Katy Perry wins by a mile, anyway.

Try purple… Purple Ombre – Definitely makes a statement. I am the only person I know that has worn it and always get good comments about how much people love it.
ANYONE CAN PULL IT OFF. Google “ombre” and you will see just how cool it is… I did mine on the lower part of my hair and it really does make you feel so much “cooler”

I have tried a crazy colour red which washed out really quickly and once in a while I put in blond highlights. I have very thick black hair and I feel with the blond blending in my hair isn’t as buff or thick. Maybe it’s just my imagination.

I think it looks great for certain people but important how you use, some can look great with dip dye while others can pull off dyeing all their hair.

I think pastel looks great on some, but I have’t seen anyone in person rock it without looking cheap.
We just need to remember that these celebs are styled to the max by others so it’s something to keep in mind when doing such a radical change to your hair.

A while ago I spiced up my hair with some purple highlights and loved the look. The colour (even though it was permanent) washed out too quickly. I bought purple streaks of fake hair instead. This way it never washes out and if I need to look professional, I need not worry about any purple hair getting in the way.

Demi just looks a little too…I don’t know, dirty? I like it when it looks funkier…

As much as I love pink, I cannot see myself dying my hair that colour. It looks good on some people, and perhaps if I’m feeling adventurous I’ll try the hair chalk and take a few pictures to remember the event… but waking up every morning with pink hair? It would hardly go with all my outfits, is all I’m saying. Power to those who feel comfortable with this look. Personally, I’d rather splurge on a pink eyeshadow or lip gloss than a packet of pink dye.
