Review: We tried INOAR’s Arabian-inspired Baccarah Blue haircare collection

Earlier this month, INOAR launched their brand-new limited-edition Baccarah Blue Shampoo, Conditioner and Treatment Oil, a trio inspired by the timeless rituals of Arabian beauty.

Date extract

Our editor visited Excentric on Point in Sea Point, Cape Town, to experience the new collection.

“When I read that the new Baccarah Blue collection was inspired by Arabian beauty, the first thing that came to mind was ‘fragrance.’ By now we’re all familiar with the incredible fragrances and oils coming out of the Middle East. Rich, bold and long-lasting, Arabian scents are known for their spicy, woody and gourmand fragrance notes.

I arrived at Excentric On Point eager to experience the innovation, and the first thing that struck me was how beautiful and luxurious the packaging design is. The deep blue and gold are really eye-catching, and a perfect fit for the indulgence of the contents.

While I was having my hair washed and conditioned, I mentioned to the stylist how incredible both the Shampoo and Conditioner smelled. The scent filled the whole wash area, which really added to the sensorial experience. I’m also very pleased to report back that this luxurious scent lingered on my hair until my next wash day.

My scalp gets very oily, so we applied the conditioner only to my lengths and ends. Despite the rich, nourishing ingredients in these products, they didn’t weigh my hair down. It still felt light and bouncy, but ultra-soft to the touch.

As you’ll see in my photos, the product also gave my hair incredible shine. It felt silky soft, and there was no frizz in sight, despite the foggy weather.

My stylist also applied a few drops of the Baccarah Blue Treatment Oil to my lengths. This lightweight finishing oil is great for taming flyaways and frizz, as well as giving hair an extra boost of nourishment. It contains date fruit extract, sweet almond oil and mica, a natural illuminating mineral that reflects light to give hair a luminous radiance. ⁠

I left the salon with hair that felt light, healthy and soft, and it has undeniable shine. My hair looked and felt more nourished, and the luxurious fragrance stayed with me for several days.

I love that this collection feels like a ritual. Every product and ingredient has a purpose, and they’re a pleasure to use from start to finish. I’m really excited to start using these products at home, as winter has left my hair craving some additional moisture.
