How to have the perfect #SelfCareSunday

How to have the perfect #SelfCareSunday 1

Heard of #SelfCareSunday? This new trend is all about deliberately taking care of yourself and re-fuelling your mental, emotional, and physical health. #SelfCareSunday activities are a great way to improve your mood and reduce any anxiety. It’s also a wonderful way to improve your relationship with yourself and others.

Shower to Shower’s Claire Bowen says “#SelfCareSunday is about being present and making a conscious decision to participate in tasks that are self-fulfilling. Take the time to set boundaries while maintaining a balance between work and personal time. Five months of lockdown feels like decades and sometimes it can feel like you’re living at work, instead of working from home,” says Bowen. “#SelfCareSunday has made becoming more purposeful about the ways we spend our free time easy.”

Bowen suggests some productive and healthy activities for #SelfCareSunday:

Digitally detox
Key to #SelfCareSunday is the ability to switch off. Turn your phone, television, iPad and even your smart watch off! Disconnecting is key to reconnecting with yourself.

Get outdoors and spend some time with nature
Besides burning calories, we can’t deny that there’s something amazing about being outdoors. Taking a walk or a hike offers you great benefits both mentally and physically and takes you away from the “hustle and bustle” of your normal life. Nature has a fantastic calming effect and assists in reigniting positive feelings and releasing tension.

Reinvigorate yourself
A long candle-lit bath isn’t for everyone, but in the time of Corona, we’ve all been forced to consider hygiene a little more than usual. The key is to choose products that smell great, are well formulated and ultimately make you feel good – on Sunday and every day of the week. Shower to Shower’s recently launched a new hygiene range called Germ+ Protect that is as beautiful and indulgent as it is hygienic. The products are all enriched with tissue oil and contain multi-vitamins that will leave you feeling reinvigorated. Try the Shower to Shower Germ+ Protect Fresh Vitality body wash or the Fresh Escape liquid soap.

A date with a friend who makes you feel good
We often assume that self-care is a solo activity, however, it doesn’t have to be. Going out with friends can have a major impact on your health and well-being, especially after being isolated from them during the lockdown. Going out on lunch dates with friends can prevent loneliness and give you a chance to spend quality time with important people in your life.
