In 1996, François Nars was one of six influential makeup artists featured in a Harper’s Bazaar photoshoot. The artists were given three hours to create a defining makeup look for spring. Taking everyone by surprise, François completed his model’s look in a matter of minutes using just one lipstick colour for her cheeks, lips and eyes. This was the birth of the original multi-purpose makeup stick.
