I’m not a fan of these. The wide range of colours they have attracted me at first and the price wasn’t too bad either, but Essence Nail Polish just doesn’t last on me. I wanted to like this product, I really did. However, the polish chips quite easily and I find that it actually dries up rather quickly in the bottle, which is very inconvenient. With that said, it seems to last much longer if you use another brand’s nail polish as the base and/or top coat. In that case it works wonderfully and applies easily with their new wider brush.

The Essence nail polish is better than most “high end” nail polishes. Affordable, long lasting, wide colour selection and the brush makes diy nail manicures that much easier. What’s not to love?

I have been using the Essence nail polish range for a few weeks now and I have noticed a huge difference from the other nail polishes that I have been using. My nail Polish does not chip so easily and lasts up to a week. It still maintains it’s healthy shine. Ladies you have to try this product. Amazing!

Essence has always been my go to brand for nail polish, they offer a variety of colours and finishes and their price is always right (R25.00 for 8ml). This international brand aimed at young students who who are just dabbling into the make up world proves to hold its own amongst the major players in the beauty aisle especially in the nail polish department.

I got the colour 174 Purple Sugar which is their tribute Pantones 2014 colour of the year – radiant orchid. Two coats was all it took to get the job done. Minimal chipping after 5 days of wear. The colour is pretty and can be used as a base for a variety of nail art designs. Perfect for a mani or pedi in summer. Full 5 stars from me, You can find your fave shade at a Clicks or Dischem nationwide.

The Essence Colour & Go nail polish range comes in multiple colours. Every time I go past the pharmacy there’s always something new. It is also a really affordable brand, but the best part is how quick this nail polish dries. No more worrying about smudging your nails, as they are completely dry within minutes after applying. I have this range in colours such as ‘that’s what I mint, lets get lost, pink and proud, over the rainbow’ and much much more. My favourite has to be the ‘that’s what I mint’ which is a light mint green colour, that looks great against tanned skin.

  • This is the only nail polish I can recommend for this price! It is a guilt-free fun shop and at that price why not try out a few instead of splurging one one high end colour?

I normally swear by OPI, in my opinion their polishes can’t be beaten, but when I tried the Essence colour in a beautiful bright purple-blue with OPI base and top coat, it looked so luxurious and flawless everyone wanted to know what it was!

I would definitely try out some more colours to experiment with (especially trial-and-error risky shades I want to try without spending a fortune on a colour I am not 100% sure of).

There are some beauty products I’m prepared to spend serious money on like an excellent eye cream targeting fine lines or a deep penetrating serum to assist hydration but I draw the line at nail polishes. For me, they must be affordable, on trend and good quality. Essence nail polishes fulfil all 3 of those criteria. Love the brand!

While I love Essence for it’s affordability and wide range of products, I am a bit disappointed with this nail polish. Maybe it’s just me being too rough on my nails, but this polish only lasts me a day before it starts chipping or peeling off. The colour & go range has a wide selection of beautiful colours and I use it mostly for a night out or when I’m in a hurry because of the fast drying time, but the next day I have to remove the polish. I tried using this polish with a gel top coat and then it lasted me a bit longer.

One of my favourite nail polishes is from Essence. They come in a variety of colours and are very affordable, so you can walk out of the store with a number of them.

The nail polish brush is quite thick and so, in one stroke you will have nail polish on the whole nail. You will need about two more coats before you get a lovely solid colour.

The Colour & Go range stays true to its name. within a minute, the nail polish is amazingly completely dry.

The major downside, however, is that it starts chipping within a few hours. you are likely to only have it on for a day before you need to remove it because of chipping.

Personally, I think the Colour & Go range is good for quick/emergency nail colour application before a night out, because it dries so quickly. However, it is not suitable for someone who does not have time to always be re-painting their nails.
