Some beauty classics never go out of style. First launched in 1992, The Body Shop’s iconic Body Butters have been loved for generations for their rich textures, indulgent fragrances and deeply nourishing formulas. Now, in 2026, the much-loved range is back with a richer, creamier texture and modernised formula, bringing fans everything they loved while making it even better.
The return of Body Butters comes as The Body Shop enters a new chapter – with renewed energy while celebrating the products, values and personality that have made the brand distinctive for decades. For long-standing customers, it’s a chance to fall in love with an old favourite all over again, while introducing one of The Body Shop’s most-loved products to customers discovering it for the first time.
“There is something special about bringing back a product that customers genuinely know and love,” says Dhevan Pillay, Managing Executive for Retail Business Development at Clicks Group. “Body Butters are part of The Body Shop’s heritage, and this return is about celebrating that legacy while giving customers an enhanced experience.
“We’re excited for loyal fans to rediscover their favourites – and for a whole new generation to discover what makes Body Butter such an icon.” The reformulated Body Butters melt effortlessly into the skin without a greasy residue or white cast, leaving skin feeling soft, smooth and intensely nourished. The range offers up to 72 hours of nourishing moisture (48 hours for Hemp). And the numbers speak for themselves. In 2025, one Body Butter was sold every 15 seconds in the UK, while 18 were sold globally every minute. With ethically sourced ingredients and formulas designed for every skin type, the 2026 Body Butter range celebrates a true body care original – refreshed for today. Back and better. Because some classics don’t need reinventing – they just need restoring.

The Body Butter Bar
To celebrate its return, The Body Shop is bringing The Body Butter Bar to life, inviting customers to explore the different textures, fragrances and formulas for themselves.
It’s a playful, sensorial way to get up close with a body care favourite – to try the textures, explore the fragrances and remember just why Body Butters have remained so loved over the years. The icon is back. And it’s better than ever.
