Ordo, the innovative brand redefining the oral care industry with its high-quality, affordable, stylish, and eco-friendly products, proudly launched in South Africa late last year.

After alarming statistics revealed that 1 in 2 people in the UK suffer from some form of gum disease, Ordo’s founder and CEO, Barty Walsh, identified a crucial need for affordable oral care with an improved designed that is also environmentally responsible. This commitment to blending science with attainability and style gave birth to the Ordo brand.

Ordo works closely with dental professionals to refine and perfect their products. Each product in the range prioritises simplicity. Maintaining good oral health can be challenging, but starting with a two-minute brushing routine using a fluoride toothpaste twice a day is a simple path to a healthier smile.

Ordo offers a comprehensive oral care solution based on innovation, effortless elegance, top-notch quality, and affordability. By challenging industry norms, Ordo believes that every beautiful smile deserves an equally exquisite toothbrush.

The bestselling Ordo Sonic+ Toothbrush boasts a battery life of over 4 weeks and features multiple cutting-edge technologies, including four brushing modes (clean, white, massage, and sensitive) as well as a two-minute timer with a quad-pacer.

Operating at 40,000 sonic pulses per minute and utilising fluid dynamics for thorough interdental cleaning, the Sonic+ Toothbrush is available in four stylish colours, ensuring that there’s an option for everyone.

Our editor recently ditched her manual toothbrush to put the Ordo Sonic+ Toothbrush to the test:

“From the research I’ve done, it seems that the electric toothbrush outperforms the manual toothbrush significantly, but having said that, I’ve always been a manual toothbrush kind of girl.

When the opportunity came around to test and review the Ordo Sonic+ Toothbrush, I was excited to put it to trial. With limited electric toothbrush experience, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the info online suggested that this is one of the very best brands and very best models, so I was eager to try it myself.

This is a sonic brush, which means it cleans teeth and removes plaque by vibrating (instead of rotating back and forth), which allows it to get to hard-to-reach places in the mouth.

This toothbrush has four settings: Clean (which is the setting I use most often for regular brushing), White (to remove surface stains), Massage and Sensitive (for sensitive teeth and gums). It has a built-in timer set to two minutes, and during use it pauses every 30 seconds, prompting you to move on to the next section (1 minute in total spent on the top row of teeth and bottom row of teeth respectively, with a break indicating to move from cleaning the front of the teeth to the back of the teeth). This is really convenient as you don’t have to keep an eye on the time.

The battery power lasts around four weeks, which is really impressive and convenient as it means charging the brush around once a month.

Like I mentioned, I was completely new to electric toothbrushes. The first time I tried my Ordo, I started giggling as I found the sensation against my gums quite ticklish. It took me a day or two to become comfortable using the brush as I was navigating a new sensation in my mouth as well as a new shape of brush. However, after using it a couple of times the movements started coming naturally and I was comfortable before I knew it.

I’m prone to brushing my teeth too hard, and with the Ordo I’ve had to train myself to let the brush do the work. I read a few reviews and write-ups online before I started using it, and the general consensus was that less is more, and that the more you allow the brush to do the work (and stop vigorously scrubbing it against your teeth), the better the results will be. I gently move the brush across my teeth without rubbing or scrubbing, allowing it to do the hard work.

The most important bit of info I can share with anyone contemplating trying this brush, is how clean my teeth feel after I use it. You know that smooth, slippery feeling when you run your tongue across your teeth after a visit to the oral hygienist? It’s similar to that. My teeth feel smooth and slippery and some coffee-induced surface stains also appear less noticeable.

We review the Ordo Sonic+ Electric Toothbrush 4

When I first opened the product I thought the size of the brush was very small, but I actually find it more comfortable to use than the regular, larger size brush heads I’m used to.

The brush looks and feels luxurious. I love the matte, grippy feel of the brush – it doesn’t get slippery and I like that the brush is heavier than some of the hollow plastic alternatives on the market.

Electric toothbrushes are known to be pricey, and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that despite the high quality of the brand, Ordo is competitively priced and is actually a more affordable option than most other electric toothbrushes. The brush head should be replaced around every three months.

While it initially took a few days to get used to, the Ordo Sonic+ Toothbrush has won me over. It’s convenient, effective and luxurious. If you’re in the market for a high-tech electric toothbrush that doesn’t break the bank, this is it.”
