We got the opportunity to visit the lovely Legs eleven salon in Green Point, Cape Town, to find out more about a revolutionary treatment known as Endermolift.
In simple terms, this treatment is used to give your face a “workout” as it wakes up our fibroblasts (skin’s youth cells). As we get older our skin starts to sag, fine lines appear and we lose our overall firmness. Endermolift, which is safe and non-invasive, uses a technique that boosts the skin’s natural production of Hyaluronic acid by up to 80%. An initial course of six to twelve sessions is needed to achieve the best results. One a month maintenance is then recommended to keep the signs of ageing at bay. Plus there is no down time, only a little redness that disappears within minutes.
The therapists use a special machine on the face that sends gentle pulses down to the dermis to awaken our cells. After the cells have been stimulated and the production of Hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin is released, our skin is happy from within. The machine can pretty much reach all the areas of the face and precise settings are used. This is what we thought:

If you are about to get married or have a special occasion to attend and you want to look your best, this is the treatment to go for. I was super impressed with the instant results and painless procedure.
My face was cleansed before we started the treatment and a full facial assessment was performed to identify my problem areas. My therapist then did one side of my face first to show me how the skin is lifted compared to the other side that she hadn’t touched yet. My fine lines and annoying frown line was no longer that predominant anymore. It is instant which is amazing as us women want instant gratification. You are supposed to go for two sessions per week for the first four weeks and then space them out. Six to twelve sessions are needed to achieve the best results. As I only went for one it soon faded and my skin was back to normal. I like that fact that you can also concentrate on a targeted area and just treat the section. For a full face and neck treatment you are looking at R400 per session. Legs eleven offers lots of different packages so chat to them if you are interested in Endermolift.

I was recently given the opportunity to visit Legs eleven salon to try out the newly launched 10 minute targeted Endermolift treatment ( R160 per session). I did some research before going, so I had a rough idea of what to expect, but it still took me somewhat by surprise.
Previous facials I have been for have predominantly been cream-based, so the Endermolift machine was certainly a surprise. The moving flap on the machine delivers gentle micro pulses to the skins surface to smooth out wrinkles and leave the skin looking plump and revived. I found the sensation a bit weird at first, but after a few minutes I got used to it.
I wasn’t expecting my face to be so red after the treatment, however this subsided within 30 minutes. The redness is due to increased blood circulation. I found that while my skin looked plump afterwards, the effect didn’t last too long. In order to reap the full benefits of this treatment, I think one would need to go for regular treatments, and perhaps after several one would notice more of a difference.
