Celebrity fishtail braids we’re loving right now

Although plaits and braids have long been firm favourites with many, lately, the fishtail braid has been in the spotlight and has been the “IT” hairstyle for red carpet events. As there are so many ways to style the fishtail plait, it is the perfect hairstyle for both a casual day look and a glamorous evening look. Need some hair inspiration? We’ve put together a collection of our favourite celebrity fishtail plaits:
Celeb fishtail braids 1
Leona Lewis
To complement her edgy outfit, Leona Lewis opted for a deconstructed fishtail plait. The plait has been pulled out to create a messy effect, however, the loose side-swept tendrils of hair soften the look and add a feminine touch.

Selena Gomez
Proving that fishtail plaits can be creative, Selena Gomez combined a fishtail plait with a faux hawk to create an ultra-modern up-do. The faux hawk gives this look a young, edgy feel and works perfectly with the voluminous plait.

Alicia Keys
Rather than playing it safe with a simple side-swept fishtail plait, Alicia Keys opted for a structured side plait with a heavy dose of volume. The result is an edgy plait that has the perfect amount of attitude whilst still looking feminine.

Blake Lively
For a look that is both chic and modern, Blake Lively paired a slick ponytail with a gorgeous fish tail plait. Blake’s thick hair gives this plait enough volume to take this look from simple ponytail to gorgeous up-do.

Emmy Rossum
Although Emmy Rossum opted for a rather plain fishtail plait, the result is stunning. The side-swept fringe and clip details add the perfect feminine touch, making this style a firm favourite with many.
