How NOT to wear fake eyelashes

How NOT to wear false eyelashesParis Hilton has never been known for being subtle. But her lashes at the MTV Movie Awards went a little far, even for her.

I love a good set of falsies – and fully applaud her going for a dramatic look – but you don’t want them to actually look fake. And that goes double for real life. If your photos aren’t going any further than Facebook, get fake lashes right with these tips from make-up artist Charlotte Willer:

1. Never, ever use strip lashes with a dark base. They just look really fake. Strips with a clear base are much more natural looking and just as easy to apply. You can find them at most drugstores.

2. The number-one giveaway of fake lashes is when they peel away from your skin at the outer corners of your eyes. The solution: Don’t use too much glue. Dab a teeny bit on the back of your hand and run the strip through it. Then, once you’ve gotten them in position, hold them down with your fingers for a few seconds.

3. Camouflage the fake lashes by using mascara to blend them in with your real ones. Volumising mascara works best.

  1. Iv always been too afraid to wear fake eyelashes, I opted for a mascara that gives the effect of wearing fake eyelashes, its Falsies by Maybeline, its in a cherise pink tube, and now also available in waterproof, its a really really awesome product. Love it to bits, never leave home without it!! Iv had complete strangers walk up to me to ask where I had my eyelashes done cause it looks WOW and they shocked to find out its just mascara.

  2. I am addicted to eyelash extensions. I have the shortest ones put on and they look very natural. It does something special fr your eyes. What I love is the fact that you don have to but mascara every month and that you can go to gym, swim etc with it on. Ladies please try this but make sure that ou go a reputable salon which does individual lash extensions. It makes a very big difference!

  3. It does kind of suite her, I mean she is kind of “plastic” and the fake eyelash seems to work for her, however, I strongly doubt that it would suite most other people. Camouflage is key for great looking lashes. (From what I have seen on other girls and celebs)

  4. I am not a fake eyelash type of girl, the more natural the better… but I am kinda liking this look on Paris Hilton! If ayone can pull it off, she can!
