How to: Ombré Lip

How to do the Ombre lip

Most of us have tried the Ombré hair trend and even Ombré nails. So why not try an Ombré lip? It’s much quicker than the other two trends and you don’t need to be a pro to create it.

What you’ll need:

Step 1: Apply a thin layer of concealer to your lips to create a blank canvas and easier application.

Step 2: Using your darker shade of lip pencil or lipstick, line your lips and colour in the entire lip area.

Step 3: Apply your second shade of lipstick that is either lighter or brighter than the first one, to the middle of your pout.

Step 4: Using your finger, gently blend the lighter shade / second colour into the darker one. Be sure to still leave the edges of your lips darker. To finish off, add a clear gloss for shine.

If you want to be more adventurous, try using matte shades. Gold also looks beautiful as your centre or second shade. Play around until you create your perfect Ombré or two-tone lip.

  • This shade is stunning but I don’t think it would suit me.

I love this trend but I wouldn’t try it. I feel like its too bold and needs someone who isn’t shy to pull it off.

  • I loved the ombre lips, I tried it and it didnt come out too bad, it’s important to use the right colours or your lips will be a disaster

  • Great colour, even though I think it is not for me

  • Hmm maybe for a night out but not everyday wear, I agree touching this up might be a bit of a hassle
