Fashion blogger, Sheri-Lee Greenway from @SAFashionGirl shares her five top tips for glowing skin and the products she swears by.

“Everyone always talks about drinking lots of water and getting good sleep when it comes to improving your skin, but to be honest, I tend to fall asleep with my make-up on, without having drunk enough water, but I have a few products that sort out my skin despite these tendencies. Sure, I drink water and get plenty of sleep, but a great exfoliator, moisturiser and highlighter can work wonders when you need a little extra help!”

Here are Sheri-Lee’s 5 top tips and products for getting glowing skin:

Superfoilant

Dead skin piles up on the surface of the skin, leaving skin looking dull, rough and dry. If that isn’t bad enough, the dead skin can lead to excess oil and clogged pores, resulting in more blemishes and acne which is why it is important to exfoliate. The Dermalogica Daily Superfoilant resurfaces and deeply cleans your skin leaving it super smooth, all while absorbing pollutants which help to detoxify your pores and fight premature skin ageing.

Sheri-Lee says: This top product leaves my skin soft and clean!

Face Mask

The right face mask can help hydrate the skin, remove excess oil and improve the overall appearance of your pores. They are easy to apply and leave the skin feeling tightened and toned after a single use! The Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask is perfect if you have troubled or oily skin. It has spearmint oil to cool, vanilla absolute to calm redness and Rhassoul mud to do a deep cleanse! Added bonus – it smells great!

Sheri-Lee says: I actually love all face masks because they are refreshing and leave me feeling like a new person!

Triple swirled solution!

Sheri-Lee loves Stila’s One Step Correct as it acts as a moisturiser, primer and colour corrector all in one! This triple-swirled helix serum instantly primes, colour-corrects and nourishes skin for a flawless face in just one step! Stila’s One Step Correct helps hydrate, control oil and diminishes the appearance of pores and lines.

Sheri-Lee says: It brightens my face and gives it a subtle glow, making me look ten times better after putting it on. This product is an absolute necessity for me!

Pillow Power

Satin pillows might seem like a bit of a luxury, and yes, you do feel like royalty but cotton pillows don’t allow your skin to slide on the pillow as you move, which results in sleep lines and wrinkles. Although these lines go away throughout the course of the day, they can become permanent wrinkles. A Dear Deer Satin Pillow Slip minimises facial wrinkles and puffiness and it won’t absorb the moisture from your face creams – leaving your face properly hydrated. As an added beauty bonus, it prevents hair loss, split ends and breakage and helps keep your hair looking shiny!

Sheri-Lee says: If I can’t get enough sleep, I make it count with a pillow fabric that’s gentle on my skin. Satin doesn’t absorb moisture the way cotton does so these pillow slips are great for someone who needs all the hydration hacks they can get!

A Strobe of Genius

Highlighting adds luminosity for a gorgeous glow that emphasises the face where the light would naturally hit it. Forget contouring, highlighting makes you look younger, brightens your eyes to make you look more awake, takes away the dark circles under your eyes and even gives your eyebrows a lift. NYX Strobe of Genius Palette is an incredible illuminator collection and an absolute must-have! The palette includes seven velvety-smooth shades that will enhance your features with serious levels of illumination and is designed to give you everything you need to achieve the strobing trend.

Sheri-Lee says: The easiest way to get glowing skin is of course to fake it with a pretty highlighter. I like to use it on my nose, cheeks, brow bone and cupids bow.

  1. Exfoliating really helps to smooth out the texture of the skin a bit, especially if you have acne that has flaky bits sometimes
