Shiseido’s bag of goodies

There’s nothing that brightens up BeautySA’s office more on a rainy Friday morning than a bag of goodies. Especially goodies that haven’t been launched yet! So imagine our delight a red Shiseido bag filled with products found its way to the beauty desk.

A collection of not only skincare and make-up products, but also a limited edition fragrance made for a heavy gift bag. Peaking inside, here’s a selection of what we found (and promptly spot-tested – sometimes our jobs really are tough)…

Shiseido's bag of goodies

MAKE-UP

Lacquer Rouge, R255, on counter 10 September
Inspired by Japanese lacquer artistry, the lip colour comes with a lip-gloss-like sponging applicator but glides on like a more liquid lip stain. It’s an intense splash of colour with an at-first shiny finish.

Perfect Refining Foundation, R440, on counter 10 September
The cute and compact plastic bottle is perfect to carry around in your handbag – it’s tiny and light-weight, double plus.

Camellia Compact, R495, on counter 15 September for 3 months while stocks last
Ladies, this is a limited edition item, so we suggest you get in store early to get your hands on the gorgeous flower-inspired compact. It looked too pretty to disrupted with our fingerprints, so we didn’t actually test it. But we’ll take Shiseido’s word that it has a ‘velvety and dewy feeling during application’.

SKINCARE

Intensive Spot Targeting Serum, R1 245, on counter 17 September
With its hefty price tag, we think it’s best if we give this baby a proper four-week test. So look out for our review of whether it really is a cosmetic alternative to laser treatment of pigmented spots.

Anti-Dark Circle Eye Cream, R595, on counter 17 September
In two weeks the eye area should look hydrated and vibrant. In four weeks dark circles should become smaller and less visible. And in eight weeks overall skin tone should become even and youthful. Again, we’ll be holding this product to its eight-week claim.

Shiseido counters can be found in selected Edgars and Stuttafords stores.

  1. I seriously need to see more reviews especially with beauty regimen.. It does help especially for a fickle minded like me, who wants to try everything!

  2. Will try the anti dark circle eye cream, I hope this 8 week claim holds a money back guarantee should I still have the dark circles after 8 weeks.
