The beauty of Urban Decay

main 1

Oh hey there, Urban Decay fans! And just like that we have your attention. Us beauty folk tend to get a little over excited about certain brands, and if you’ve never coveted a UD Naked palette, then we’re not sure we can be besties any more.

Unique, edgy and high-quality, Urban Decay has been an international cult-favourite since the 90’s. South African junkies finally got their fix when UD opened their first local store in Sandton City in July 2016. They also launched a limited time only Pop-Up Online store on 12 July, which stocks the legendary must-have eye shadow palettes and more.

We asked the Urban Decay team to share the six products you should start off with and why…

products

  1. Urban Decay B6 Vitamin Infused Complexion Primer Potion (R450)

It calms a multitude of sins with each spritz. Use this soothing spray any time of day to hydrate, prep and soften your skin with vitamins and antioxidants. The formula contains the first patented, stabilised form of topical vitamin B6, which absorbs oil, minimises pores and reduces redness. People who travel regularly will love using this spray to refresh their skin mid-flight. The sprayer emits a microfine mist that goes on so light, you’ll hardly feel it.

  1. Urban Decay Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush (R400)

This brush blends and buffs for a flawless finish and distributes makeup better than a sponge. It disperses the light-reflecting particles and seemingly erases fine lines. Like all UD brushes, it’s cruelty free and vegan. This medium-large brush has densely packed hairs and a domed top that maneuvers nicely around the face and can be used for any liquid, cream or powder foundation.

  1. Urban Decay Naked Flushed Double Ended Brush (R300)

This is the perfect brush for getting naked and flushed. Developed specifically for Naked Flushed Palette (and sized just right for the shades inside it), this double-ended brush flawlessly applies bronzer, highlighter and blush.

  1. Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette (R850)

Experiment with warm bronzes, dimensional grays, rich browns, gorgeous taupes and deep black. It includes shades with matte and satin finishes, as well as shades with sparkle. Naked Smoky includes an exclusive double-ended brush (with a Tapered Crease Brush on one side and a Smoky Smudger Brush on the other). Every shade features their Pigment Infusion System for rich, velvety, blendable colour that lasts.

  1. Urban Decay Perversion Mascara (R275)

Perversion Mascara glides on and gets you sexy in one stroke, but it won’t quit until you say when. The ultra-creamy, lengthening and volumising formula coats each lash with triple black pigments. The twisted trim on the volumising brush latches on to each lash to separate and define. Perversion contains nourishing ingredients made of Hairdensyl, a complex blend of proteins and amino acids – including marine glycogen, known to stimulate lash growth. Honey extract provides deep nourishment.

  1. Urban Decay Vice Lipstick (R230)

Too much vice is never enough! With 100 shades and 6 indulgent finishes, these lipsticks come with a fully loaded formula. The pigment load is insane; just one swipe of vice lipstick provides an unbelievable laydown of colour.
