This No-Lye relaxer has been formulated to give silky and straight hair, while also protecting your scalp from ‘burning’.
The product comes in a box, similar to other products, and contains the relaxer cream, neutralizing shampoo and conditioner.
Unlike most hair relaxers, this Johnsons No-Lye Relaxer smells quite good. It does not have the chemical-like smell most relaxers have. After being applied, the relaxer only takes a few minutes before it is ready to be rinsed out, unlike most relaxers that take over 15 minutes.
It is also very gentle on the scalp. I burn very easily and very quickly, but the Johnsons No-Lye Relaxer did not burn my scalp, and the fact that it could be rinsed out in less than 10 minutes (of smoothing) meant my scalp was protected further.
I have a lot of hair, so I had to use the whole container. But for someone with thinner hair, or who only retouches the roots, it will be enough for two uses.
I am very happy with the product and will definitely be reusing it, especially because it is quite affordable and gentle on my scalp.
