We paid a visit to Willow Stream Spa at Fairmont Zimbali Resort to test out their Guinot Hydradermie Deluxe Facial and Hot Stone massage. The hotel and spa is beautiful and very tranquil – definitely worth escaping to for a weekend away!

The Guinot Hydradermie Facial is a stunning treatment that I would recommend to anyone. Making use of the Hydraderm machine (which is unique to Guinot) it deep-cleanses and leaves your skin feeling regenerated, hydrated and firmer. I opted for the Hydradermie Lift, a 60-minute treatment that focuses on anti-ageing. It offers immediate results through lymph drainage, which eliminates toxins and improves skin tone.
After having a quick look at my skin and asking me a few questions, my therapist cleansed and gently exfoliated my face and then applied a gel. She then made use of a mild galvanic current from the Hydraderm machine, which assists the ingredients of the gel to penetrate the skin. This also works on the facial muscles, which lift and firm the face, eye area and neck.
I was then treated to a divine shoulder and neck massage. A mask was also applied, which was then gently removed and replaced with moisturiser. My skin felt incredible for days afterwards and I definitely saw a difference.

My therapist concentrated on the tight areas of my body, which seems to be pretty much everywhere. Warm stones were then used and the heat was applied to the pressure points on my back and neck. This is supposed to help soothe the nerves and bring energy into balance. I felt very relaxed and almost fell asleep during the treatment. My therapist had really great, strong hands and really knew what she was doing. After the massage, marula oil was massaged into my skin to help nourish and hydrate it.
