Which foundations suit a yellow undertone?

Hi, I want to know what foundations would suit yellow undertones in women. MAC foundations tend to make me look too orange sometimes.

Which foundation suits a yellow undertone?

Hi, I have had a similar issue with some of MAC’s foundations. First of all, be 100% sure that you have been given the right shade of foundation. MAC have approximately 13 different types of foundations, and I find that some can tend to look orange, and some not. I have always been a MAC fan and my favourite foundation, for many years, has been their Face&Body Foundation, which I found never goes yellow or orange on my models. Another brand who never seems to fail me and is spot-on with their colour theory is Bobbi Brown. Always be sure to get a tester before spending the cash though. The pH level of your skin can also react with the make-up, so test it first for a whole day! Feel free to check out my tutorial: How To Find Your Perfect Match Foundation.

  1. I am yet to find the correct shade because i’m not very light but i’m not dark either. I have an olive skin tone which i think makes it very difficult to find the right shade.

  2. The perfect tone shade is very important, I made that mistake once. I love using high end brands on my face as it makes me feel good about myself and gives me that extra boost.

  3. I have always wondered this as finding the perfect shade is quite difficult. I tend to rely more on bb creams than foundation.

  4. I’d love to try a high end brand of foundation, like Bobbi Brown, but I have been putting it off. I’m assuming shopping for a foundation would mean approaching the make-up counter bare-faced, and I haven’t gone without make-up or BB cream for some time. It’s a scary idea! Would it be possible to go to the counter while wearing my make-up and then just have them remove it there?

    1. Hi Ayesh. If you go to a beauty counter wearing makeup, they would be able to remove it to test foundation shades to see what is best suited to your skin tone.
