Keep that hold

Hairsprays

We all know that it can be trial and error when it comes to finding the right hair product. Especially when it comes to finding the right hairspray. Some of us associate hairspray with the feeling of wearing a helmet – something that is hard, and sometimes sticky. You want a product, however, that is light enough to allow for movement but still holds your look in place.

Luckily, hairsprays are not what they used to be, and can open a whole new world of style for you. Bye-bye loose hairs, hello gorgeous chignon!

Here are a few of our favourite hair-holding sprays.

1. evo builder’s paradise working spray, R325
Not only do we love the name of this product, but we also love what it is capable of doing for us. It is fast drying and if you find you’ve sprayed a bit too much, it washes out with just water.

2. ghd final fix hairspray, R80
If you love creating certain looks but prefer them when they have been brushed out, then this is the one for you. You can style your hair to your desire and then brush it our, and re-style. It works wonders at stopping straight hair from kinking, and it smells great too.

3. Revlon Flex, R27.95
Again, another spray that offers you that flexible hold, hence its name. Stop styles from falling with this flexi natural hold spray from Revlon. We love the great price point too!

4. Toni&Guy Glamour Firm Hold Hairpsray, R119.99
Just like the name suggests, it is there to help you look and feel glamorous all night. It has a firm hold, but one that won’t leave your hair feeling stiff. It is long-lasting and works great holding an up-do in place.

5. Kérstase Laque Couture Micro-Mist Fixing Hairspray, R260
Your best friend to use when styling with heat tools! It has heat protection and UV filters and can be reapplied throughout the day to keep the desired look without the texture getting thick. It helps with frizz control and is also highly workable.

6. TRESemmé Salon Finish Extra Hold Hairspray, R71.99
Create a salon finish with this extra hold hairspray. It is humidity-resistant and will keep flyway’s smooth for 24 hours.

I’ll vouch for Tresemmé salon finish extra hold any day. It does the job and doesn’t leave much of a stuffy hairspray smell in the room afterwards :)

  • The GHD sounds really nice, but I’d like to give the Kerastase a try one day.

  • My curls fall out after a few minutes of curling so I definitely need to invest in a good quality hair spray

  • Totally love the GHD final fix hairspray and the price is not too bad.

Finding the right hair spray for my fine, flyaway hair is the nightmare of my life. I’ve tried so many products over time and they never seem to deliver what they promise so will now try the TRESemme

I hardly use hair spray but from this list I would buy the TRESemmé because I trust the brand and also since it is humidity-resistant.

  • Tresemme are one of my faves hair care products didnt know there was Revlon Flex out there though

  • I always love curling my hair but it just falls out, and using hairspray just takes away the softness i like to see , so now with this new range i will definitely be heading out to get one for myself thanks for introducing me to it.

Tresemme doesn’t work for me. But I love Toni&guy
